Josephine and Sophie 7. week

Sophie did not recover after her operation and has been put to sleep. To continue would not have been in Sophies best interest, but only in our own interest. So even if it was a very hard decision it was the right one. One thing is sure: Sophie has left an acking hole in our hearts. We nursed her 24 hours every day hoping that she would be allright, so just now we miss her very much. Sophie was 7 weeks old.

The Rainbow Bridge Just this side of heaven is a place called The Rainbow Bridge. When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable. All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor; those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind. They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. Its bright eyes are intent; its eager body quivers. Suddenly it begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, its legs carrying it faster and faster. You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart. Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together to never part again....

	No matter if Sophie is there or not Boris and Josephine keep on playing. In Boris Josephine has the best playmate in the world. He is always ready to play, and he is very careful not to hurt her. Lilli is the one to tell Josephine what is right and more important: what is not right! But she never is hard on Josephine without giving her a big forgiving lick afterwards. Lucky is of course the mother. A role she has taken very serious. But now she has started to play with Josephine too. Josephine is a very independent puppy. That is a good thing - or else she would grow up to be a very spoiled little lady with all the attention she gets as she is the only puppy left.
